Frottage Final

My theme for the two pieces we're "sound" and they difference and similarities from its "physicality" to its "mentality." It also relates to the difference between "touch" and "feel," as I chose a physically object the produces sound, and a sound not being produced by physicality that you can touch, which I used as the voice.

The first frottage focuses on the mentality and lack of touch of sound. I decided to create imprints of my lips in different shapes and stretches to represent sound coming from the body. I also used an icon of a music note in the center to draw attention, and used cardboard with the same material, lipstick, to create a frottage by rubbing it down into the paper with my hand. 

The second frottage is based more in physicality and items you can actually touch to produce sound. In this instance, I chose to take different areas of my guitar with conte to create thick and solid lines and patterns within the piece, with less organic shape than the other piece.
